Under an agreement with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and HRAI, this intent is met by manufacturers and importers of specified HVAC products through an HVAC EnerGuide Program of providing, on product literature, an EnerGuide rating scale that states the energy efficiency of products (air conditioners, heat pumps, gas and oil-fired furnaces).
The goal of the HVAC EnerGuide program is to maintain or increase the overall market penetration of products having a higher energy efficiency than the minimum specified in the regulations by ensuring that the industry makes available to the consumer all of the information necessary to make an informed decision on cost implications of the energy of the HVAC product.
